OFFICIAL SWEEPSTAKES RULES

NO PURCHASE OR FEE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. SWEEPSTAKES IS VOID OUTSIDE THE 50 CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES AND WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW. CONTEST IS SUBJECT TO ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS. Participation constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Sweepstakes Rules. Sweepstakes Organizer: The 2008 Step Outside Mentor Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) is organized by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Inc. ("Organizer"), 11 Mile Hill Rd., Newtown, CT 06470- 2359, (203) 426-1320. Eligibility: Sweepstakes open only to individuals 18 years of age or older at time of entry who are US citizens legally residing in the 50 continental United States (including the District of Columbia) and who also have participated as a mentor in one or more qualifying Step Outside activities- hunting and target shooting- between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008. Sweepstakes Period: March 24, 2008 to January 1, 2009. How to Enter: To enter the Sweepstakes, eligible participants must complete the 2008 Step Outside Mentor Survey. Surveys must be completed online at www.huntandshoot.org. Entries submitted by any other means shall be ineligible. All surveys must be received by Organizer no later than January 1, 2009. Surveys not completed in their entirety shall be ineligible for the Sweepstakes. No other materials should accompany surveys as these will not be returned to participants. Persons participating as a mentor in the same or different Step Outside activity- hunting and target shooting- on several occasions between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008 may enter Sweepstakes multiple times provided separate surveys are completed for each qualifying event. The number of entries that an entrant may submit is determined by the number of qualifying Step Outside activities pursued, not on the number of individuals mentored. Sweepstakes Prize: Five (5) eligible selected winners will each receive one (1) $1,000 Gift Card to Bass Pro Shops (Approximate combined retail value of prize pool: $5,000). Only one prize per winner regardless of the number of entries submitted by winner. All expenses associated with Sweepstakes and acceptance of the prizes shall be borne by Sweepstakes winners. Gift Cards are subject to the terms and conditions of the Gift Card issuer. Sweepstakes prizes cannot be redeemed for cash value, substituted or exchanged by the winners, however, Organizer reserves the right to substitute prizes as necessary. Prizes are nontransferable. Federal, state and/or local taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winners. Odds of Winning: The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received by NSSF. Winner Selection: Winners will be selected at a random drawing on January 19, 2009 at NSSF headquarters. Winners need not be present. If a selected winner is unreachable or fails to claim prize within 3 business days of being notified, or is determined ineligible, the winner will forfeit prize and an alternate winner will be selected. In order for a winner to claim a Sweepstakes prize, Organizer may require additional information to confirm eligibility, including without limitation, proof of identity and age. Winners will be required to submit a completed Form W-9 or other tax forms in accordance with IRS regulations. Organizer reserves the right to accept or deny awarding Sweepstakes prizes based on information submitted. Organizer may disqualify a Sweepstakes winner immediately upon learning the winner has responded with false information. Each Sweepstakes winner agrees to have his/her name, likeness, city and state of residence and any statements published and utilized by Organizer for prize notification and advertising or promotional purposes without additional consideration or further compensation to the winner or any other person or entity. General Release: By entering the Sweepstakes, each participant agrees to hold harmless, release and defend Organizer, its affiliates, and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and volunteers (collectively, “Representatives”) from any and all claims, suits, demands, judgments, settlements or liabilities (including attorneys’ fees and dispute resolution costs) of any kind arising out of or in connection with participant’s participation in the Sweepstakes, his/her acceptance, possession or use of any prize (including use by other third parties) or resulting from any Sweepstakes activities. General Terms and Conditions: By entering the Sweepstakes, participants agree to be bound by these Official Sweepstakes Rules and the decisions of the Organizer, which shall be final. Any dispute arising from this Sweepstakes will be determined in accordance with the laws of the State of Connecticut, without reference to Connecticut's conflict of laws principles, and the participants hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of the State and Federal Courts of Connecticut and do hereby specifically waive any personal jurisdiction defense that they may have to the exclusive jurisdiction of the State and Federal Courts of Connecticut over all such persons and such disputes relating in any way to this Sweepstakes. Neither the Organizer, its affiliates nor any of their respective Representatives shall be responsible or liable for: (i) late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible or unintelligible entries; (ii) telephone, facsimile, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (iii) failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed transmissions of any kind; (iv) any condition caused by events beyond the reasonable control of the Organizer, its affiliates or their respective Representatives that may cause the Sweepstakes to be disrupted or corrupted; or (vi) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Sweepstakes. Organizer reserves the right, in its sole discretion to disqualify any participant who is responsible for or who tampers with the entry process, or otherwise abuses any aspect of this Sweepstakes. In the event the Sweepstakes is compromised by non-authorized human intervention, tampering or other causes beyond the reasonable control of Organizer, which corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper operation of the Sweepstakes, Organizer reserves the right, but is not obligated to, in its sole discretion, to suspend, modify or terminate the Sweepstakes. Should the Sweepstakes be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, Organizer reserves the right, but is not obligated, to award prizes based on the entries received before the termination date. Winner’s List: The names of all winners of the Sweepstakes may be obtained until February 16, 2009 by sending your request along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: NSSF, Research Department, “2008 Step Outside Mentor Sweepstakes Winner’s List,” 11 Mile Hill Rd., Newtown, CT 06470-2359. Change to Official Sweepstakes Rules: Organizer reserve the right to make changes to these Sweepstakes rules and procedures at any time and for any reason without notice.
